On January 21, Professor Li Yanqing, vice president and discipline leader of Shandong University Qilu Hospital, Professor Zuo Xiuli, director of gastroenterology Department, and Professor Ji Rui, deputy director of Digestive Endoscopy Center, together with the ROBO medical team, successfully completed the animal experiment of EndoDreams robotic digestive surgery system (hereinafter referred to as EndoDreams). It lays a solid foundation for the further development iteration and clinical application of the system.
EndoDreams of ROBO Medical is the world's only digestive endoscopic surgical robot system used for upper and lower digestive tract surgery at the same time. It innovatively adds a flexible arm with multiple degrees of freedom (the world's minimum diameter <3mm) to achieve laparoscopic surgery under digestive endoscopy and complete the whole process from endoscopic to pathological tissue resection. The operation of endoscopic surgery was successfully realized. This animal experiment is an important part of the development process of the system. EndoDreams has shown good performance in animal models, fully verifying the accuracy, safety and effectiveness of the system.
Under the guidance of professors Li Yanqing, Zuo Xiuli and Ji Rui, the experimental team used EndoDreams to complete ESD surgery in accordance with the established experimental scheme, and the expert team experienced the efficiency and convenience of EndoDreams robotic digestive endoscopic surgery system. At the same time, combined with many years of clinical experience, professional suggestions were put forward for the robot's operational performance and surgical accuracy, which provided strong support for the smooth progress of the experiment.
When talking about the original intention of the digestive endoscopic surgery project, Professor Li Yanqing said that ESD technology is a very important technology in the field of endoscopic therapy, but its problems made the team hope to find a quick solution. The robotic system of digestive endoscopic surgery makes it easier and more convenient for doctors to do it with two hands, and effectively reduces the occurrence of complications.
Professor Zuo Xiulli said that EndoDreams has many advantages compared with traditional surgery, which can provide more flexible and accurate control. The tiny robotic arm can realize accurate processing of diseased tissue, and it can also provide high-resolution endoscopic images, enabling doctors to observe the diseased area more clearly and realize manual operation. The difficulty of mechanical operation of conventional endoscope is overcome.
Professor Ji Rui spoke highly of EndoDreams. He said that, first of all, EndoDreams is simple to operate and can shorten the learning curve of doctors; second, Endodreams is more stable and can reduce the fatigue of doctors, and can also improve the efficiency of surgery. In the future, there will be greater and predictable development space and field expansion.
ROBO Medical, as an international leading digestive endoscopic surgical robot enterprise, has participated in a number of national Ministry of Science and Technology, provincial key research and development programs of surgical robots through natural cavity. EndoFaster digestive endoscopic surgery robot originally developed by ROBO is the world's first surgical robot system targeted at the pain points of minimally invasive digestive endoscopic surgery, and also the world's first digestive endoscopic surgery assisted robot operating system that has completed human registered clinical trials.
The success of this experiment marks that ROBO Medical has made an important breakthrough in the field of digestive endoscopic surgical robots. In the future, with the continuous improvement and promotion of the technology, it is believed that this technology will bring good news to more patients.
